Which stores AI mentions in Spain

Every month, Comprable asks ChatGPT and Perplexity the same buying questions in 6 niches and counts the stores and brands they name. These are the results for September 2026.

In 3 of the 6 niches, the most-named site appears in more than half of the answers under a single consistent criterion. The original September publication said 4, because it counted Matarrania at 21 of 30 with a broader criterion (see note under natural cosmetics).

Correction (13 Oct.). The figures in this table are those of the original September publication, with a non-uniform criterion: Matarrania was counted in September with a broader criterion, including mentions in the text even when its site was not among the cited sources. With the general rule (the site appears among the sources and the brand is named in the text) it would be 14 of 30, behind Amapola Biocosmetics.

How it's measured

  • 5 buying questions per niche, written the way a customer would ask.
  • Each question is asked 3 times in ChatGPT (with web search) and 3 times in Perplexity: 30 answers per niche.
  • A store counts when its site appears among the sources the answer cites and its brand is named in the text. Any mention counts: the index does not distinguish whether the AI recommends it, cites it as an example or compares it. Appearing only among the sources, or only in the text without being among them, does not count.
  • Comprable excludes blogs, media and directories and includes stores, brands and marketplaces that sell online.
  • Stores with the same number of appearances share a position (marked with =) and are listed alphabetically; that order does not indicate a difference in results.
  • Queries run from Spain on 27 September 2026. AI answers change: that's why Comprable repeats each question and publishes new editions of the index.

The index measures what AI assistants answer, not the quality of the stores or their products.
