Which stores AI mentions in Spain

Every month, Comprable asks ChatGPT and Perplexity the same buying questions and counts the stores and brands they name. This month, a natural cosmetics special: the usual measurement plus 10 product types, from face cream to gift sets.

In natural cosmetics, Matarrania appears in 48% of the answers.

Natural cosmetics

Cosmetics special: 10 product types

Each product type is measured with one question repeated 6 times (3 in ChatGPT and 3 in Perplexity). That is fewer answers than the main index: percentages carry a wider margin of error and show who stands out, not exact rankings.

How it's measured

  • 5 buying questions per niche, written the way a customer would ask. In the cosmetics special, 10 more: one per product type.
  • Each question is asked 3 times in ChatGPT (with web search) and 3 times in Perplexity: 30 answers per niche and 6 per product type. One call could not be completed in natural cosmetics (29 counted).
  • A store counts when its site appears among the sources the answer cites and its brand is named in the text. Any mention counts: the index does not distinguish whether the AI recommends it, cites it as an example or compares it. Appearing only among the sources, or only in the text without being among them, does not count.
  • Comprable excludes blogs, media and directories and includes stores, brands and marketplaces that sell online.
  • Stores with the same number of appearances share a position (marked with =) and are listed alphabetically; that order does not indicate a difference in results.
  • Queries run from Spain on two dates: natural cosmetics and the 10 product types on 1 October 2026; coffee, olive oil, beer, chocolate and cheese on 27 September 2026. AI answers change: that's why Comprable repeats each question and publishes new editions of the index.

The index measures what AI assistants answer, not the quality of the stores or their products. With about 30 answers per niche, changes of a few points between months fall within the normal variation of AI answers.
